About Me
My name is Molly. I’m originally from the beautiful county of Kerry on Ireland’s south west coast, where I grew up surrounded by mountains, beaches and, of course, dogs. I’m a trained outdoor instructor, and spending time in nature has always been where I feel most at home.
Painting wasn’t always part of my life. I discovered it during one of the most difficult chapters of it.
While receiving treatment for my mental health, I picked up a paintbrush simply as a way to pass the time. I never imagined it would become something that brought me peace, and connection. As I move forward into this next chapter of my life, Rua Prints has become a way of sharing that journey while creating something meaningful for others.
Dogs have always held a special place in my heart, and I love capturing more than just what they look like. Every portrait is painted to celebrate their personality: the cheeky expressions, the gentle eyes, the endless enthusiasm and the little quirks that make them completely irreplaceable. Using layers of acrylic paint and rich colours, my aim is to create artwork that feels as full of life as the dogs themselves.
About Rua
Rua Prints is named after my best friend, Rua, an Irish Terrier who filled our lives with laughter, adventure and unconditional love.
Rua never met a stranger. She believed everyone was a friend waiting to happen. She was happiest when she was included, whether that meant jumping into the car for the school run, running beside our bikes through Killarney National Park, or standing eagerly on the bow of the boat, convinced she’d make friends with every dolphin we passed.
She taught me to find joy in simple moments, to embrace every adventure and to live life with boundless enthusiasm. Every painting I create carries a little piece of that spirit.
The colours and striped backgrounds you’ll see throughout my work are inspired by the places I’ve explored over the years. From wild coastlines and mountain summits to quiet woodland trails. Each one tells its own story, just as every pet has one of their own.
My hope is that every painting brings a smile, starts a conversation, and helps keep the memory of a much-loved companion alive for years to come.
Thank you for being here.
